We realise "Intranets, Exhibitions, CD's and Presentations" is a perhaps broad category but it serves as a wide umbrella for the type projects that aren't websites, logos & branding, printed materials, or purely illustrative work.

Aside from these types of work that can be easily be categorised, the staff at Sputnik are also accomplished in designing and producing products each requiring a totally unique approach.

As many of these projects are either for inhouse use by the clients or of a confidential nature we cannot present them as portfolio pieces, but these include:

Agilent Technologies, software demos & presentations

Sputnik have carried out some fairly impressive work for Agilent, though we say so ourselves. As well as numerous Powerpoint, Flash and branding work, we also developed a prototype software product for mobile phone call reporting to be used by the worlds leading telcos.

Rather than the typical approach to software development, Sputnik designed an intuitive layout for the software, allowing the easy interpretation of complex data through a series of speedometre and thermometer style gauges.

By making the reporting functions easier to use, issues can be resolved quicker, saving costs associated with time, and users are more inclined to make full use of the software developing loyalty to the product.

Vision Express Training CD's

In order to continue to practice, all opticians must continue their professional development each year, acquiring points each time they complete a course.

In order to make training cost efficient, it is traditional to arrange for many opticians within the company to attend a course at the same time, although this creates it's own logisitcal problems, as well as taking the people away from their jobs.

Sputnik developed a CD ROM on behalf of Innovative Optical Training containing a series of 3 presentations, each with its own multiple choice quiz. Results from the quiz could either be printed and faxed or posted, or submitted via the internet back to Innovative Optical Training for assessment.

The CD ROM presentations could be delivered at a time that is convenient to the optician, with minimum cost and time implications.

Email Marketing

Now then, where do we start. Email marketing has come such a long way. The free bit of advice is to try and grow your own database, rather than buying one in - response rates are much, much better. Depending on your aims, email marketing responses can be improved by the use of targetted, impacting html emails and personalisation. Its normally better to send a specific offer with a strong graphical design based on data captured earlier that ensures it's relevent to the user. Think anniversaries, or tax year ends. Bombarding people with constant and irrelevent emails is the quickest way to ensure they unsubscribe, and you don't want that.

By managing campaigns properly, we can not only ensure better returns and lower attrition, we can report on exactly who, how and why people respond with more analysis than you could possibly want to show your boss to justify the campaign.

Viral Marketing

Viral Marketing can be very exciting, or very boring if it dies on day one. We would only recommend this for B2C campaigns, and even better if the target market is worldwide. One of our most successful campaigns resulted in over 1 million hits to the target website in a month, and over 3,500 subscriptions to the e-newsletter.
