Sputnik have carried out some fairly impressive work for Agilent, though we say so ourselves. As well as numerous Powerpoint, Flash and branding work, we also developed a prototype software product for mobile phone call reporting to be used by the worlds leading telcos.

Rather than the typical approach to software development, Sputnik designed an intuitive layout for the software, allowing the easy interpretation of complex data through a series of speedometre and thermometer style gauges.

By making the reporting functions easier to use, issues can be resolved quicker, saving costs associated with time, and users are more inclined to make full use of the software developing loyalty to the product.

In order to continue to practice, all opticians must continue their professional development each year, acquiring points each time they complete a course.

In order to make training cost efficient, it is traditional to arrange for many opticians within the company to attend a course at the same time, although this creates it's own logisitcal problems, as well as taking the people away from their jobs.

Sputnik developed a CD ROM on behalf of Innovative Optical Training containing a series of 3 presentations, each with its own multiple choice quiz. Results from the quiz could either be printed and faxed or posted, or submitted via the internet back to Innovative Optical Training for assessment.

The CD ROM presentations could be delivered at a time that is convenient to the optician, with minimum cost and time implications.

ELMI is part of the commercial arm of Salford University. Sputnik were commissioned to develop a password protected intranet allowing access to market intelligence reports.

The site required the ability to upload new documents via an Administration system, and for these documents to be accessed via users after completion of a one time registration form. Users could then search the database for relevent information and store documents in a personal 'Favourites' folder,

MT90 offered mobile phone text alerts to premier league football fans, and opportunities were available for sponsorship from interested companies such as Nike or Carling.

The sales presentation was a Flash movie containing bespoke animations and music to illustrate the disposable income of the modern day football fan, and the opportunities to benefit from sponsorship.

In order to provide educational materials for excluded pupils, Sputnik developed a series of virtual environment materials for VLEF. The environments allowed pupils to explore cartoon style places of work, and carry out curriculum related tasks.

Pupils' participation was recorded by storing their login details, and allowing them to upload completed worksheets as they made their way through the various stages. Teachers then had limited access to monitor pupils for whom they had responsibility to mark their work, and make notes within the system.
